Where Are The Answers?
Jesus (or Wanikiya as he is known in Lakota culture) said
"...the kingdom of God is within you." (Luke 17:21)
Wakan Tanka (Great Spirit) is within you.
The Light, the Truth...every answer lies within your very being.
Many organized religions would have us believe otherwise and place
that authority for our own soul and spirit outside of ourselves.
Even as new teachings arise from the spiritual awakening taking place across our planet,
human nature takes over once again and much of what is expressed comes from the personality ego-self in a desire
for power, position, or fame...an attempt to have us believe once again in an external authority!

To teach, to share...to express the Truth so that others may glean from it that which
resonates with their own inner being and furthers their life...this is good.
But it is up to each one of us to be responsible for discerning the Truth and the teachers of Truth from the false prophets.
Remember, the fallen angel was also known as "the brightest angel" and his greatest tool of seduction was/is beauty.

The Truth needs no defense. It stands on its own.
We must look beyond clever words and shiny images.
We must look deeper to discern the heart and intent of what lies within the speaker.
Do they possess true humility?
Is their manner defenseless, selfless, and without agenda?
Do they have a quiet heart of self-contained joy, desiring nothing from without and resting content with everything?
Do they honor the knowing within You?
The responsibility truly lies with each one of us to look closely at what we choose to follow
or align ourselves with...at what we allow to become a part of us by our own consent.
Exploring various teachings can be beneficial.
Actually when we embrace different ways of expressing the same Truth,
we weave a stronger tapestry of understanding within our own being.
But we must make a distinction here between true spiritual wisdom
versus the cleverness of intellectual concepts or influence by social/cultural status.
The intellect is a function of the personality self. Certainly we need it, as human beings, to live in this
organic realm. But the emphasis placed on the measure of intellect or of social/cultural status
to determine the true spiritual evolution of an individual can be misleading.
It can be the common individual living a plain, simple life who expresses true spiritual wisdom.
They do so because their soul is aligned with its source.

Although there are many great teachings, there are also many false teachings.
The only way for us to discern what is true from what is false is to turn within to our own inner guidance.
"...the kingdom of God is within you".
Wakan Tanka (Great Spirit) is within you...
and we are all within Wakan Tanka.
There is nothing outside of God.
The belief that there is God and something else is what separates us from our own spiritual knowing
of our God Self and therefore sets the stage for dependence on "external authority".
I tell you this: Always....always look first to your own inner knowing.
It's ok for the Truth to challenge our belief systems, especially if those belief systems are misguided.
We sometimes have to face those challenges to grow. But when it's all said and done, if what you
hear or read does not align with your own being, then throw it out! This includes the words I write here.
I do not want to be your "external authority". My only prayer and intention is to further the good by
pointing to the alignment of the soul with its source through one's own experience.
If my words do not do that for you...then throw them out! I mean it.
Truly, every answer lies within you.
Reveal God within you...
to yourself.
For there you will find all of the answers...every one.

Exercise:
If you are looking for a way to tap in to that knowing within you, here's a suggestion:
1. Put away all the books, all the teachings for a time.
2. Find one simple statement of Truth that you resonate with...that speaks to you and opens you to greater awareness of your God Self.
3. Spend quiet time each day (for a period of time) with this statement of Truth.
4. Keep a journal handy and write down the insights that come to you during this time.
I'll tell you a little story. I did this one time with a simple phrase from the Tao Te Ching. Because I understood its importance to my life, I spent three years with this one statement of truth. It changed me forever and opened me to understanding beyond what I could ever have imagined.

The following will be our Affirmation Prayer.
Find some quiet time to create inner ”sacred space“ for yourself.
Soft music can help…Breath of Angels perhaps, if you already have it.
Calm your mind, relax your body, and connect your being to God as you understand it.
I encourage you to daily read this slowly, speaking it out loud if you can.
Allow spaces of silence between each phrase of affirmation, accepting with
humility and faith that the word you speak is taking place now.
AFFIRMATION PRAYER
That which created the stars and planets in the heavens and holds them in their rightful place
created me too. This All-Knowing Presence flows through me now.
It is the very essence and substance of my being.
There is not God...and me. There is only God in me...and me in God...One.
Any idea that I am separate from God is illusion.
As I now allow this illusion to fall away, I embrace the "I Am" that I am.
It fills my conscious awareness with the Truth of "me" that has been here all along.
I accept fully now my Divine Nature and my Divine "knowing".
Whatever I need to know, I call forth now...
and this All-Knowing Presence of God within me responds.
Therefore...I know.
I willingly accept and receive the Truth now.
If I have hidden the Truth from myself, I now bring it into the light that I may know
and move into the perfect alignment of my soul with its source,
In this sacred alignment, I reveal to myself...
That I am the very clarity and knowing I seek!
I am that I am.
Be still and know that I am God.
It is so!
Amen.
