(Poems and Ponderings of The Tao) by Denean (A work in progress)

The Wu Wei Tree
I danced upon the spiral of life to find my way to this world...in this form...at this time.
Patterns, beliefs...flesh and bone...a sturdy tree...
with years of challenge and adversity that have allowed me to grow in my own way...
in the Creator's design...to arrive at this place of my Divine Destiny...
changing patterns, re-arranging beliefs, stripping away all that is false
to reveal my authentic Self...
All found on the path of least resistance...the path of acceptance, and of virtue...
The path of wu wei (woo way)...doing non-doing.
So come rest awhile in my shade...and listen...
Partake not merely of the fruit that is offered
but plant its seed deep in your heart, that it may grow there...
and nourish your soul.

Teachings From The Tree
"That which is rooted is easy to nourish" Ch. 64 Tao Te Ching
This also implies "That which is not rooted is difficult to nourish."
A strong tree has deep strong roots.
Being "rooted" means being centered in oneself. When our energy becomes "other-centered",
the flow that was meant for us is going to wherever or whomever we have given ourselves up to.
The more off-centered we are, the more our energy is scattered.
The blocks to our "flow" stem from this "other-centeredness".
The center of one's being is like the connecting point or opening through which the universe is able to nourish.
If we place this "center" with another being, then the energy goes to that person instead.
Actually is doesn't have to be a person. It can be a memory or pattern from our past or childhood,
or it can be concern and worry over the future.
Anything that takes us out of present-time...this moment...is taking us away from our center,
thus dispersing our energy flow and making it extremely difficult for the universe
to nourish us in the way we were intended to be nourished.
It is inner calm and stillness that give us strong root within ourselves.
Contemplate the stillness of trees...

True Seeing
When you are absolutely quiet within your own being,
the outside world takes on a completely different "flavor".
You can see the superior/inferior aspects
as though a bright light has exposed them in their nakedness...

True Freedom
Taking responsibility for your own life...your own decisions and actions (and their consequences)
is where real freedom lies.

Who Does This Belong To?
When someone is relating to you from an inappropriate position, you can tell how much of it is
"theirs" (vs. yours) by the measure of emotional attachment you have.
If you are detached (not shut down, mind you!)...but truly detached, that tells you it belongs to them.
If it is triggering your emotions...that part belongs to you!
The level of emotional attachment is the "measuring stick"!

Dealing with Aggression and Criticism
If you become angry and allow your behavior to be motivated by the emotion coming at you from another,
you have lost your center and your root is weak.
If you detach and allow the emotional energy to remain totally with your aggressor,
you maintain your center and your root is strong.
Think of it this way: If someone were trying to give your something that was unpleasant...
something you really didn't want, would you not refuse it?
The point is, do not try to own or identify with the aggression or criticism of others.
It doesn't belong to you!

Who Is the "I" That I Am?
We seem to be on a never-ending search to discover our own greatness,
when in truth, there is nowhere "to go". You are here...your greatness
is within you and expresses through you.
For how could the Creator's own expression of itself (you) be lacking
and in search of what it already is?
~ It is my own ignorance that keeps the veil over my eyes...
so now I lift the veil and see that I AM ~
If the true "I" is the Creator's expression of itself, then this poses another question:
Who is this "I" that has fear, doubt, and desire...
that believes in loss and scarcity...that causes us to do unloving acts?
Surely it must be the ego's interpretaion of what it thinks I am!
It identifies itself with emotion.
This "i" is the lie. It is not who you truly are!
The Truth...
"I Am that I Am...Be still and know that I Am God"

The following will be our Affirmation Prayer.
Find some quiet time to create inner ”sacred space“ for yourself.
Soft music can help…Breath of Angels perhaps, if you already have it.
Calm your mind, relax your body, and connect your being to God as you understand it.
I encourage you to daily read this slowly, speaking it out loud if you can.
Allow spaces of silence between each phrase of affirmation, accepting with
humility and faith that the word you speak is taking place now.
MY GARDEN
I am one with Universal Mind.
My ideas of light are gifts to me from Spirit.
I use these ideas to create a beautiful sanctuary
where peace and love grow and flourish abundantly.
I am the Master Gardner and I choose wisely.
I plant the stillness of the mountain in my garden that I may know peace.
I plant the nature of water there...
That I may flow without effort.
Seeds of wisdom from ancient sages,
These I plant there too...
That they may grow strong within me.
What I plant has firm root...
That it may be easily nourished.
The light of the sun bestows its radiance upon my garden...
Offering its gift of clarity.
Heaven blesses my garden...
And Earth receives its blessing.
I am made whole...
In My Garden.
Amen.

My Current News:
I was inspired recently to record a vocal version of Ave Maria. This is something I have wanted to accomplish for some time now. A couple of days ago I completed the vocal and I am extremely happy with how it's all taking shape. I'm not sure yet how I will present this...a CD single perhaps. Keep checking in as I would like to make it available in some form soon. I don't know if it will be finished by Christmas, but that is my goal.
Note: There is an instrumental version of Ave Maria on my Christmas album, Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence.
By the way, "Fruit From The Tree" (Poems and Ponderings of the Tao) is a little book I've been working on over time. As most of my creative focus at this point needs to go toward music...perhaps I can finish it after my next album is completed.
I wish you all a very wonderful holiday season!
